Changes to WonderED's
Pioneer Program
in 2024/25

We are changing how learning is accomplished for our youngest students this year. For students approximately 10 years old and younger, including your child, we are revamping and enhancing our curriculum and learning processes throughout the school year. We welcome a limited number of students to participate in the pilot group that we are creating and implementing  during this school year. We are confident that it will serve your student well, though it will require some additional involvement on your part at home. We would like to offer you that option for you and your student(s).

How It Works

Parent/Family Role

You will serve as the primary person who manages your student’s learning. That means managing/overseeing your child’s learning experiences 5-6 hours/day. Your feedback will be invaluable as we recreate our elementary program that will be as unique and adaptable as your student.

WonderED Role

WonderED will provide everything you will need to fulfill that role:

  • One week of onboarding for your family the first week of the year, including a comprehensive diagnostic assessment that evaluates mastery of English Language Arts (ELA) and Math Skills

  • A physical workbook designed for you to support his/her learning, with clear curriculum documentation, assignments, and worksheets.

  • Based on diagnostic results students will use tools online tools for ELA, math and reading to continue to gain skill mastery

  • Access to a digital library that provides fiction and non-fiction books, magazines, and articles adjusted to your student’s reading level.

  • Connection Hub with other students in the Pioneers program

  • Once a term (every 6-7 weeks) parents/student will meet with WonderEd Staff to ask questions and get feedback.

Costs

Because of the important role you will be playing during this pilot year, we will charge you only $1500 of your scholarship money. That means that the remaining money (which is likely thousands of dollars) of your student’s full scholarship money can be used in other ways to purchase items or experiences that support your student’s education (be sure and check your state’s scholarship guidelines for those purchases).

Timing

  • This pilot program will run throughout the 24/25 School Year.

  • Final decision to participate in Pilot must be made by Aug. 15th, 2024

Researching Other Schools

We are hopeful that with these changes, your student will continue to be a WonderED student this year. However, if you are considering other school options, here are some school review sites that are independent from the schools, and evaluated instead by their student and parents.
